Clearly reflective of university students purposes of reading is the pie chart. One third of students read for the hobby while a similar number of students read for study. Those who treat reading as a way of relaxation or broadening their horizons account for 20% and 12% respectively.
Significantly contributing to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, most students have developed a regular habit of reading. Those who manage to go to university often acquire a good habit of learning from books, and they often obtain pleasure with the company of books. In addition, books are still the direct source of knowledge for university students. Textbooks are still the most popular among students, which not only advances students' understanding of a subject but also offers new insights that broaden students' horizons. Thus, reading is indispensable to college students for their campus life. It is recommendable that students keep this good habit and spend more time with books so that they can make full use of their time at university.
