Clearly reflective of the relationship between education and earnings as well as the unemployment rate in 2011 is the chart. Overall,weekly earnings rose from $451 to $1665 and the unemployment rate fell from 14. 1% to 2. 4% as people obtained high degrees.
Significantly contributing to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, people with higher degrees usually have a stronger ability to learn new things. Because of their smarter brains,they can quickly adapt themselves to the new working environment, master necessary skills, and therefore meet the requirements of potential employers. In addition, jobs that pay handsomely always require a university degree. People who wish to do well-paid jobs like financial advisor and lawyer have to earn a master or a doctoral degree at a prestigious university before their employment.
Thus, it is hardly surprising to note the trend illustrated in the chart. In order to enjoy a higher salary and a bigger chance of employment, it is advisable that students study hard and try their best to earn a higher degree at university.
