Clearly reflective of the change in the number of the aged population and its ratio to the total population between 2000 and 2050 is the chart. The number of senior citizens will increase from around 150 million in 2000 to more than 400 million in 2050, and the proportion it accounts for will also rise from about 15% to 30% during the period.
Significantly contributing to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, young people are less willing to start a family than before.As the living costs soar and working pressure builds up, especially in big cities, it has been increasingly unaffordable for young couples to live a stable life,not to mention sparing adequate time to bring up the child. In addition, the senior have a much higher life expectancy than before. Thanks to better medical care offered by our country and the growing awareness of health among the elderly,senior citizens tend to do regular exercise and health check, which prolongs their life span greatly.
Thus, it is predictable that there will be more and more senior citizens in the future. It is advisable that our government make preparations for the upcoming aging society and introduce policies to encourage young couples to have children.

因此，可以预见，在未来会有越来越多的老年人。我们的政府为即将到来的老龄化社会做好准备，出台政策鼓励年轻人夫妻生育。
