Clearly reflective of the means of transportation in a city is the pie chart. 39% of citizens commute by public transportation, and the figure for those who travel by car is 34%. Those who vote for bike take up 18%, while those who choose others means account for only 9%.
Significantly contributing to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, people are increasingly aware of the importance of environmental protection. Public transportation such as bus and subway, can effectively reduce the emission of harmful gases as well as relieve traffic jam, so most people welcome and choose it. In addition, private cars offer more convenience for people’s travel. As automobiles have become increasingly affordable for Chinese families, those who wish to avoid the limitation of public transportation tend to travel by car which can take them where public transportation is not reachable.
Thus, those who travel by public transportation and private cars constitute the majority of commuters in this city. It is advisable that the government build up more public transportation systems and layout more lanes for cyclists to further relieve traffic jam.

因此，那些乘坐公共交通工具和私家车的人构成了这个城市的大部分通勤者。政府应该建立更多的公共交通系统和给骑自行车的人规划更多的道路从而进一步缓解交通堵塞。
