Clearly reflective of the reasons why graduates are difficult in finding a job is the chart. Their unrealistic expectation, which amounts to 35%,ranks the first, closely followed by their lack of practical experience, accounting for 32%. Other factors such as financial crisis and the lack of hardworking spirit occupy 10% and 13% respectively.
Significantly contributing to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, some students do not have a correct idea about themselves. Unlike before when university degree holders were rare, students now have to study hard so that they can earn a decent salary. In addition, university education always fails to put what students have learned into practice. Fresh graduates often struggle to adapt to their first jobs, which causes employers to prefer those who have done part-time jobs before graduation.
Thus, what are illustrated in the chart is the problems encountered by most graduates. It is recommendable that universities place more emphasis on improving students' practical skill so as to pave the way for their future.
