Clearly reflective of the proportion of electronic book readers of different age groups is the pie chart. People between 18 and 29 rank highest among the 5 groups, accounting for 54%, while persons between 30 and 39 make up 30%, whose proportion is 19% higher than individuals between 40 and 49. As for other groups, their percentages are 5% in total.
Largely leading to the phenomenon are the following reasons. In the first place, young people possess more digital devices on average than the senior. Since digital books can only be read on such devices, it is natural that young people account for more digital book readers. In addition, the senior have formed the habit of reading traditional books for long. Many seniors believe that digital devices are harmful to health. and some of them are reluctant to accept the new thing because of the complex operation of digital products.
Thus, it is predictable that more people will participate in reading digital books as there will be more and more young people. It is recommendable that publishers digitalize more books and offer discounts so that more people will engage in them.

显著导致这种现象的原因如下。首先，年轻人平均比老年人拥有更多的数字设备。由于电子图书只能在这些设备上阅读，因此自然会有更多的年轻的电子书读者。此外，老年人已经长期养成了阅读传统书籍的习惯。许多老年人认为数字设备对健康有害，而且由于数字产品复杂的操作，他们中的一些人不愿意接受新事物。
因此，可以预见的是，随着年轻人越来越多，有更多的人会参与阅读数字图书。各家公司应该将更多书籍数字化并提供折扣，以便吸引更多人参与。
