Clearly reflective of the purpose of why people use smart phones is the chart. Making phone calls ranks highest among the 8 categories, accounting for 93%, While sending texts makes up 87. 1%, whose proportion is around 20% higher than playing games. Taking photos and surfing the Internet occupy 57. 3% and 47.9% respectively. As for other categories such as listing to music, navigation,and others, their percentages are 23. 4% in total.
Largely leading to the phenomenon are the following reasons. On the one hand, the phone is being equipped with more and more functions. As phones are becoming smarter, people are now able to use them for much more purposes, such as work and entertainment, than communication. On the other hand, however, phones still have some drawbacks. Although phones can play music or direct people, they usually do not have satisfying performance, which means that they cannot play high-quality music or sometimes bring people to the wrong place.
Thus, it is predictable that in the future mobile phones will still be mainly used as a tool for communication, but as more and more functions are being added, people will use them for professional purposes. It is recommendable that phone producers pay attention to users' feedback so as to meet their demands.
